Falling for My Boss
Page 22
“Good morning, Elizabeth.” Scott was waiting next to my desk as I walked into the room. My eyes immediately flew to his and I smiled widely at him before I remembered that he wasn’t someone I wanted to give the time of day to anymore.
“Oh, good morning,” I said and looked away from him. My hands flew to my skirt and I flattened it and tried to pull it down as much as I could. I looked down and saw the hem ending at the middle of my thighs and I wondered what I’d been thinking going out looking like I was on my way to the club.
“Is this your first time working in an office?” he asked as he looked down at my long bare legs. It was then that I realized that if forgotten to put on my pantyhose. And I’d spent a good twenty minutes looking for a pair without runs as well!
“Excuse me? Why would you ask that?” I asked him defensively. Was it that obvious I wasn’t used to a business environment?
“Your outfit,” he said with a raised eyebrow as he looked down at my skirt. “Not that I’m complaining, but that’s not a typical outfit most assistants and secretaries would wear.”
“I see,” I said with pursed lips. I have to admit that I wasn’t that upset at his comment, but more embarrassed. I mean, let’s be realistic, most professional office workers aren’t wearing short skirts to work.
“Don’t tell me I’ve offended you?” he asked, his lips curled up in a cross between a grin and a snarl. He reminded me of an observant wolf waiting for his time to jump.
“Why would I be offended?” I looked him in the eyes. “I can’t help it if I’m a sexy bitch.” I licked my lips slowly and my eyes fell to his crotch and then looked back up. I could see the shock in his eyes as I smiled coyly. I wasn’t an actress for nothing. I knew how to make men like him squirm, even if it didn’t come naturally to me. As long as I pretended it was just a role, I could do just about anything. I grinned to myself as his shocked look became confused and perplexed. He didn’t know what was going on. I’d gone from offended and slightly shy to confident and abrasive in half a second. He was probably wondering if I had some sort of split personality. I was even wondering where it had come from. Actually, that’s a lie. I knew where it came from. It came from deep inside of me. It came from the part of myself that I wish I was brave enough to let out more often. I was that girl. I didn’t take shit, but sometimes I wasn’t brave enough to speak up.
“Yes, you are,” he said and nodded after a couple of seconds. “Sexy, I mean, not a bitch.” He fumbled his words slightly and I wanted to ask him if I’d taken him aback. Maybe he didn’t know women as well as he thought he did. Maybe his sister Liv and her best friend Alice didn’t have this side to their personalities.
“So are we ready to work, then?” I unbuttoned the top button of my shirt and shook my hair back casually. I loved being in control of the situation. I loved watching him squirm. My fingers fell to the second button on my shirt and I could see that Scott’s eyes were ready to pop out of his face.
“Yes, let’s go into my office,” he said finally and I could see him swallowing. It made me feel with giddy with power. I was having this amazing sexual effect on him.
“Hold on,” I said softly and reached over and brushed the front of his shirt, allowing my fingers to rub along his chest for a good few seconds. I stared up into his eyes and licked my lips as I let my hair fall forward across my face. “You had some fluff on your shirt,” I said softly as I gazed up into his mesmerizing blue eyes. I was about to move back when I felt his hands clasp behind my waist and pull me into him even closer. His hands fell down my back and smoothed down the back of my skirt, as his fingers ran across my ass. I gasped as I felt him squeezing my butt and his eyes laughed at me.
“You had some fluff on your butt,” he said with a wink, and we stood there just staring at each other as our bodies pressed against each other lightly.
“How could you see fluff on my butt?” I asked him softly, barely able to breathe as my breasts pressed against his chest.
“The same way I can see that you have no panties on.” He leaned forward and whispered in my ear. “I just knew.”
“I have panties on.” I swallowed hard as I felt something moving against my stomach. Scott was growing hard and I was no longer in control of the situation. I was still loving the situation, but I was no longer in charge. And I didn’t really care either.
“Liar,” he said gently and I felt his lips on my cheek, pressing gently against my skin. I moaned slightly and breathed him in, melting deeper into him. He smelled sexy, and zesty and masculine and I leaned forward and breathed him in again. “Noir by Tom Ford,” he said.
“What?” I asked, my face turning red.
“My cologne. You like the smell, right?”
“I, uh, I didn’t say that.”
“You didn’t have to say it. Haven’t you realized by now, Elizabeth?”
“Realized what?” I was feeling flustered now.
“That I can read minds and I have eyes in the back of my head.” He finally let me go and stepped back. “Though I wouldn’t mind making sure.”
“Making sure what?” I said. “You mean double checking what cologne you have on today?”
“No.” He smiled, his eyes darkening. “That’s not what I want to check.”
“What is it you want to check?”
“Oh, good morning,” I said and looked away from him. My hands flew to my skirt and I flattened it and tried to pull it down as much as I could. I looked down and saw the hem ending at the middle of my thighs and I wondered what I’d been thinking going out looking like I was on my way to the club.
